Automatic background removal can save time, but fine edges and transparent objects need careful review before the image is used.
Start with a clear source
Use a sharp image with a subject that is distinguishable from the background. Motion blur, busy patterns and low contrast make the mask harder to estimate. The model may remove parts of the subject or preserve parts of the background.
Understand processing
Remove Background temporarily uploads your image to the AK Software Labs VPS after your consent. A self-hosted model estimates a subject mask. No third-party image API is used for this operation. Review the privacy page before processing confidential material.
Check on more than one background
Export PNG to keep transparency. Inspect hair, glasses, fingers and spaces between objects. A dark fringe can be obvious on white while a pale fringe may appear only on a dark background. Change Background lets you composite the mask over a solid colour.
Check application rules
A technically clean cutout is not automatically acceptable for an identity or exam photo. Some authorities restrict altered backgrounds or edited facial appearance. Follow the current rules and use an unedited photograph when required.
