OCR can turn a clear image into editable text. Treat the result as a draft and verify anything important against the source.
Prepare a legible image
Crop unrelated margins, straighten the document at the source and use sharp text with good contrast. Text in photographs, unusual typefaces or curved surfaces can be difficult. Upscaling an unreadable original does not recreate missing characters.
Select the language
Use Image to Text and choose English, Hindi or the supported combination. This operation asks permission to upload the image temporarily for self-hosted Tesseract processing. Keep a local copy of the source for comparison.
Check layout and numbers
OCR can mix columns, lose table boundaries and confuse similar characters. Review names, prices, dates, phone numbers and mathematical notation carefully. A machine-readable result should not be treated as proof of what the original says.
Save and correct the text
Download the text result and edit it in your preferred text editor. Keep meaningful paragraph breaks and repair headings or lists manually. For a multipage scanned PDF, use the dedicated PDF OCR workspace on our sister product.
